Ice Skate with Your Other Half
During the cold winter months, the RiverWalk Resort transforms its outdoor lagoon swimming pool into a state-of-the-art ice skating rink open to both guests and the public. Underneath the pristine ice is miles of tubing carrying super-cooled glycol that keeps the ice cooled to the percent temperature. Practice your twirls around the fire cauldron under the stars or hold your sweetheart’s hand so you both don’t fall down.
Hiking and Snowshoeing for Couples
The Western White Mountains are home to miles and miles of hiking trails perfect for
snowshoeing and winter hiking. Bundle up for the elements and hit the trails by foot. The Lincoln Woods Trail along the banks of the Pemigewasset River is always a popular favorite among locals and visitors alike. The flat out-and-back trail is perfect for beginners and is good for those without snowshoes. For a more challenging hike, the Hancock Notch Trail is a great trail during the winter months. The first few miles are easy, but then the trail turns steep. If you’re lucky, you may be able to slide back down the trail once you reach the top! Lonesome Lake Trail is another popular winter trail. Offering incredible views of Franconia Ridge, Lonesome Lake Trail is an easy to moderate 3.1-mile out-and-back trail.
Enjoy a Couples Spa Day
Pamper yourself at the Solstice North Day Spa for a day. The full-service day spa is located in the heart of the RiverWalk and is open to the public. With friendly and professionally trained staff, you’ll have an incredibly relaxing day no matter what service you choose. Solstice North offers a wide range of services from head to toe. Try a Signature Massage, or better yet, bring your other half for a Couple’s Massage. If you’ve spent a day or two skiing or hiking, then your feet could use a little extra love. Enjoy a good foot soak followed by a pedicure. And yes, there is even a special foot soak for men. They will love it!
Wine & Dine
The Lincoln-North Woodstock area is a great place to enjoy a little wine and dine experience. Located in the heart of the RiverWalk Resort, Seven Birches Winery (pictured below) produces hand-crafted classic European grape varietals with locally sourced fruits. Head over to the winery for a wine tasting or take one of the infamous winery tours where you can learn everything you ever wanted about winemaking. Across the parking lot from the RiverWalk, you’ll find One Love Brewery situated in the old Henry Paper Mill. Enjoy a delicious German lager with some pub classics like pretzels, nachos, and burgers.
Just up the road in North Woodstock is one of New Hampshire’s oldest craft breweries. The Woodstock Inn and Brewery is a legendary place to eat in the Western White Mountains. With an extensive beer menu full of in-house brewed beer and an even longer food menu, you can’t go wrong with the Woodstock Inn. Lincoln’s Main Street is lined with incredible restaurants and cafés serving up delicious menus. For worldly dishes head to the Gypsy Café. For made-from-scratch patties and fries head straight to Black Mtn. Burger Co. Of course, La Vista Italian Cuisine is always a great option in the RiverWalk Resort.
Date Idea! Dinner and A movie
There are plenty of restaurants right near RiverWalk Resort (including La Vista Italian Cuisine, conveniently located right on site). One Love Brewery and Gypsy Cafe are a couple options right within walking distance as well, and there are countless more places to enjoy a nice dinner in the area. In addition to the dining options near RiverWalk Resort, we're also right next to BarnZ's Lincoln Cinema! Finish off the dinner date by catching a movie and walk back to your suite in minutes.
Or skip the movie and head to the Ice Castles, just minutes up the road, be submerged in your own real life winter wonderland. **Book early!
