Night Life for the Whole Family in Lincoln

While skiing may be the main attraction in the greater Lincoln area, there is tons to do after a long day on the slopes for all ages. Whether you prefer to stay indoors and warm up your cold toes or throw on a few more layers and head outside for some more wintery fun. Lincoln is home to more than just Loon Mountain, you’ll find plenty of hotels with awesome amenities, restaurants, bars, and tons of entertainment opportunities.

For the Youngsters

For the youngest members of your family who still have an abundance of energy after a day of skiing, there are lots of activities to wear them out before a good night’s sleep. The RiverWalk Resort is the perfect place for young kids to run wild. With a game room, swimming pool, ice skating rink, and more, there is always something to do both indoors and out.

During the winter months, the outdoor lagoon swimming pool is transformed into a state-of-the-art ice skating rink. Open most evenings and on the weekend, bring your skates or rent a pair and twirl and dance on the ice under the stars. Check out one of the shows throughout the winter, like skating with the Boston Bruins Alumni!

After perfecting your triple axel, trade your skates for boots and enjoy s'mores by the bonfire overlooking the frozen Pemigewasset River. With bellies full of sugary goodness, head indoors to the game room or take a dip in the outdoor heated swimming pool. With just about every game imaginable, the RiverWalk Game Room is every kid’s dream come true. 

The Lincoln area is home to lots more fun if you want to adventure outside of the RiverWalk Resort. Head across the parking lot to Barn Z’s Cinema and catch the latest Hollywood blockbuster. With four screens and affordable prices, a night at the movies is a great way to relax! 

Bundle up and grab your camera and head to Lincoln’s frozen fortress in North Woodstock. The infamous Ice Castles is a unique experience that kids of any age will love. With colorful lights illuminating over 25 million pounds of ice, slides, mazes, and more, the ice castle is fun for the whole family! Buy tickets early as they sell out fast.

Open to 10 pm on holidays, the Loon Tubing Center is a great way to continue playing on the snow after the lifts close. With two types of tubing, lift tubing for kids over 8 years old and a tot area for the youngsters, kids can zip down the tubing hill.      

And if you’re not done skiing for the day, head over to the Kanc Recreation Area for a little night skiing on Wednesday and Saturday nights. The small ski hill offers two trails with a rope tow. Non-resident tickets cost just $14.00 for evening skiing from 7 pm to 9 pm under the lights. The beginner ski slope is available to use at no charge for those who are not ready for the rope tow yet. On the right side of the ski hill, there is a sledding hill for even more fun.

For the Teenagers 

While many teenagers will enjoy the same activities as the young kids (because we’re all young at heart!), there are lots to do even for the pickiest teenagers. Sports-minded teenagers will love the RiverWalk Health Club with its state-of-the-art workout equipment, like free weights, kettlebells, rowers, and more. You won’t be hearing them complain about missing basketball practice! 

For the artistic teenager, head over to Fired on the Mountain for pottery, painting, and crafting fun. You can paint your own pottery, make your own pottery with clay, or join an acrylic painting class. Evening classes are held weekly throughout the winter months. You can even bring snacks!

For the Adults

We didn’t forget about the adults! Leave the kids with a babysitter or grandma and head out for a night on the town. With several awesome breweries in the area, enjoy an adult beverage and play a round of pool or two. Located on Main Street in North Woodstock, Truant’s Taverne has been a town staple for over 40 years. Mix and mingle with the locals while relaxing with a cold brew and delicious food. There’s a foosball table, pool tables, and darts. And don’t forget that Friday night is karaoke night!   

Continue the party down the street at the Woodstock Inn Station and Brewery. As one of New Hampshire’s original craft breweries, the Woodstock Inn is a 37-barrel production facility. With eight year-round beers and a host of seasonal beers, you’ll always find something delicious on tap. Pair a pint with one of the many dishes found on their extensive food menu. On weekends, there is always live music so bring your dancing shoes!

If you want to keep it closer to home, One Love Brewery is just a short walk across the RiverWalk Resort parking lot. Serving German lagers in the old Henry Paper Mill, One Love Brewery is a gastropub with a German beer hall atmosphere. After a long day of skiing, the pub menu will hit the spot!
