At RiverWalk we’re lucky to have just about any amenity or activity on-site or within a mile. However, we realize that sometimes our guests want to visit nearby towns and experience different tastes. In our mind, that’s the perfect time to explore the local brewery options that the White Mountains area has to offer, some of which are right here at RiverWalk.
Come along as we introduce you to all the must-try breweries in Lincoln, Woodstock, Littleton, Franconia and Bethlehem, New Hampshire.
Lincoln, New Hampshire
Rhythm Tap & Grille
Start your tour off strong without even leaving the resort! Stop by the NEW Rhythm Tap & Grille, located by the front lobby, and try a Rhythm Cider flight. With lots of different flavors to choose from, you'll find something for everyone. Rhythm Cider is made at the Seven Birches Winery production facility.
You can also grab a bite to eat while you're there, to help fuel you for the rest of the tour. Ask about their specials or fan favorites from their American Pub Style restaurant.
One Love Brewery
Next is One Love Brewery, which can be visited simply by crossing our parking lot and entering the Lincoln Village Shops.
This brewery offers a menu full of soups, starters, salads, handheld eats, entrees and desserts that are just delicious alongside legendary Lagers and Pilsners. You can check out the full list of what they have on tap here and if you’re in a hurry, you can even order it to go.
Woodstock, New Hampshire
Woodstock Inn Brewery
Less than two miles or five minutes down the road is a local and not-so-local favorite – Woodstock Inn Brewery. This long-standing business has been around for more than 25 years and you can literally spend the entire afternoon there. The food is next level, the beer is incredible (both the legacy brew, Pig’s Ear and the more experimental runs), the decor is fascinating and they even offer tours.
Like with Rhythm Studio, we think the best way to try a wide array of beers here is to take advantage of their flights. For a mere $12 you can order their Brew Sampler which gets you five beers of your choosing! Take a peek at the menu to see what they have to offer.
Twin Barns Brewing Company
Right down the street from Woodstock Inn Brewery is Twin Barns Brewing Company. This craft brewery was created by two partners who found two barns in Meredith and then expanded to North Woodstock to the delight of all those in the secondary area. You can find IPAs, Lagers, Golden Ales, Pilsners, Porters and even hard cider there. Many of their offerings are also available to go if you fall in love with a specific beer and need more of it to take home.
While you’re there, make sure to order some barbeque from the Angry Hog BBQ – it’s phenomenal. Their Texas Meat Tray featuring pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, smoked sausage, a half rack of ribs and cornbread with three sides is next level.
By the way, if you’re in the area on a Friday or a Saturday, make sure to look at their events calendar as they have live music on those days.
Franconia, New Hampshire
Iron Furnace Brewing
Are you planning to visit Franconia Notch during your visit? Make sure to make a stop at this nearby community brewery that sits along the Gale River.
There’s a little something for all beer enthusiasts at Iron Furnace Brewing. They offer an ever-changing selection of New England IPAs, Pale Ales. Stouts, Porters, Goldens, Sours and Saisons, so if you’re wondering if your favorite style of beer is on tap… the likelihood is high!
They also have all the classic bar fare on the menu from pretzels and pizza to paninis. Going there means leaving satisfied on multiple levels.
Bethlehem, New Hampshire
Rek’-Lis Brewing Co.
Just over 20 minutes away from RiverWalk is a brewery that has a bar with 16 taps in their pub! You can try their Lagers, IPAs, Pale Ales, Red Ales, DIPAs, Fruited Sours, Porters, Stouts, Belgians and even Barleywine in one place.
In the warmer months you can enjoy their outdoor seating and you can always find a seat year-round in their brew pub. Either way, we know you’ll like the dining experience because of the scratch-made nature. But there’s more! The Pint House is not to be missed with their local chef pop-ups, summer food trucks, 10 taps and a 360-degree bar.
Oh… and did we mention Rek’ lis is a place you can bring your dog? Besties and beer for the win!
Littleton, New Hampshire
Wildbloom Beer
Just under 30 minutes from RiverWalk is Wildbloom Beer, a brewery that is passionately focused on local ingredients. Their brewing choices have recently won them awards from UNTAPPD. We think you should try all their brews, but here are their award-winning ones:
- Gnome Shoes - #1 Belgian Blonde NH
- Chickadee - #1 Grisette NH
- Buddy System - #1 Blonde/Other NH
- Heartwood - #1 Irish Dry Stout NH
- Meadow - #2 Belgian Tripel NH
- Hedgerow - #2 Best Bitter US
Their beers are regularly complimented by pop-ups from top dining establishments like Baltic Kitchen, Analog Pizza and Whatchu Talking ‘Baot Bao and Dumplings. If that’s something you’d like to experience, tune into their Facebook page for updates.
Schilling Beer Co.
Also in Littleton is Schilling Beer Co. Schilling has a couple of distinct things going for it. First off, it has a fabulous view of the Ammonoosuc River, which makes it a naturally wonderful spot for a scenic meetup or date. Second, their beers are European-inspired, which sets them apart from other breweries in this list. And third, they have several places on the same street for you to experience including their Brew Pub & Kitchen, the Store & Tasting Room and finally, the Mill Street Kitchen.
You can check out the wide variety of amazing beers they have on tap here. Spoiler alert! The options are quite substantial.
We hope you get to stop into each brewery on this list, but remember, it’s okay to visit multiple times to achieve that goal. We know a pretty extraordinary place you can use as a base camp!
