How to Have a Full Weekend of Fun Right in RiverWalk's Backyard
RiverWalk Author : Feb 23, 2023 1:14:38 PM
Whether you’re visiting RiverWalk Resort in winter or summer (or really any season), there’s a lot of fun to be had right in our own backyard. At other resorts, you might have to leave to plan a whole weekend of activities, but here, we’ve got you covered. Let’s get into some specifics!
Wondrous Wine
Are you a fan of wine tasting? You’re in luck!
Made from hand-crafted classic European grapes and local fruits, wines from the Seven Birches Winery are absolutely phenomenal. And the location couldn’t be easier to get to as the winery facility and tasting room are both right in our hotel!
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, you can even participate in a Meet the Winemakers’ tour with one of the winemakers who will talk about how the wine was made and will provide some special wine samples.
Exciting News! Riverwalk has been working toward growing our own grapes on-site for nearly ten years, and now, that dream is becoming a reality. You can even adopt a vine from our test planting site!

Grill and Chill
In the warmer months, guests of the Riverwalk can take advantage of both popular backyard games like bocci, beanbag toss, and frisbee as well as grills and picnic tables. We even provide barbecue utensils! Just check them out at the front desk to get grilling.
Let's Eat!
While you can enjoy La Vista’s delicious Italian food year-round, in the spring and summer you can take a tour of the gardens where their fresh-off-the-vine ingredients are sourced from.
Wouldn’t it be fascinating to find out where the carrots, cauliflower, and other tasty tidbits in your Cheese & Charcuterie Plate came from? You can (and should). You won’t regret it.
Experience dining al fresco at Rhythm Tap & Grille's outdoor patio and bar. This newly opened, casual, family-friendly American pub exudes a contemporary brick and mortar mill ambiance, featuring menu items made from local ingredients, artisanal drinks, and unique food and beverage pairings exclusive to the White Mountains.
The Great Outdoors
Each season at RiverWalk offers outdoor escapes both at the resort itself and just a short distance away. Whether you want to spend time out by the river enjoying the refreshing breezes, fly fishing, or swimming, or you’d rather walk the trails with your favorite companion (we have dog-friendly trails!), RiverWalk is the place to do it.
Cool tip: Get out and get active by putting on your snowshoes and discovering all the magic we have to offer, right out the back door! Did you know we have complimentary snowshoes available in a variety of sizes? See our Adventure Concierge.
Hot idea: You can visit the Lincoln Woods Trail which features views of the Pemigewasset River, or hike the Lonesome Lake Trail which shows off Franconia Ridge in all its glory for a greater cardio challenge.
Winter Wonderland
Our guests truly enjoy spending time in the snowy backyard, crafting snow sculptures and creating snow angels. Bundle up warmly and step outside for some invigorating fresh air and winter fun!
The Slopes
Probably the most well-known attraction is Loon Mountain itself. It offers guests 370 skiable acres and is suitable for any level of experience. New Hampshire is ski country and you’re invited (and encouraged) to visit.
Fireside Time
We touched on our cauldron fountain fire pit above, but we have other hot options for you to try including year-round poolside fire pits that are available for nightly use! There’s nothing like a fireside chat with loved ones or a warm spot to stargaze to lift the spirits.
Water, Water, Everywhere
We mentioned that we have a lagoon swimming pool above (it’s 167,000 gallons and has a depth of five feet), but did you know that RiverWalk actually has two swimming pools and hot tubs? The outdoor tub can accommodate 12, so make sure you bring friends and family with you.
We Can’t Wait to See You
No matter when you visit RiverWalk, good times are waiting. Book now to get started.
